Markus Nöthiger

Founder and Managing Partner
Markus has a long corporate track record with broad international experience, both in industry senior management positions and in consulting. He is a former Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Global Head of Sustainability for Xstrata plc. (now Glencore), and Head of Environmental Risk for Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS).

Markus serves as the strategic ESG advisor to Vision Blue Resources, a UK based energy transition investment company; as the Group ESG Head for Serra Verde Group, a provider of materials essential to the sustainable energy transition, operating a large scale Rare Earth operation in Brazil; as a board member of Earth Resource Investments AG, a Swiss based Asset Manager in the natural resources and energy sector ; as a member of the Sounding Board for the Swiss Gold Refinery Argor Heraeus; and as a member of the Business Advisory Board of swisspeace.

Markus' industrial experience covers mining and extractives, banking and project finance, retail and consumer, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and corporate and private foundations. His international professional experience spans many countries in Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

With decades working with senior-level executives, Markus brings to the table a thorough understanding of diverse organizational cultures and structures, covering a very wide range of strategic and operational topics. Markus has a keen political sense and the operational expertise to understand how organizations work from the inside.

Dana McNaughton

Dana McNaughton is an independent corporate and executive advisor based in Toronto, Canada. Dana is a former executive / senior manager with global experience in the mining, automotive and manufacturing sectors with expertise in strategy facilitation, policy framework design, planning, risk management, and occupational health & safety management.
Dana has more than 25 years of international exposure in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Australia and Europe. He has a strong background working with culturally diverse multi-national organizations.
He is a former executive of Xstrata plc (Acting Group Head HSEC) and Xstrata Copper Business Unit (Head of Safety & Health, Risk & Assurance), and former senior Partner for ERM (Key Client Director and member of Global Mining Team).

Ben Ferris

Principal Advisor

Ben Ferris (P. Eng, MBA) is a Senior Professional Engineer with 30 years of international professional experience in ESG, permitting, sustainability, and HSEC roles for heavy industry. His hands-on, practical experience includes working in numerous countries (Indonesia, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, PNG, Solomon Islands), multiple industries (mining, energy, paper, sugar, consulting), and with multiple commodities (copper, gold, lead, zinc, coal, LNG, oil shale).
His experiences include serving as Vice President, ESG, Sustainability & Risk at PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia’s second largest copper-gold mining operation, Environment Director, Centerra Gold (Kyrgyzstan and Canada), Group Environment Manager, Harmony Gold (Australia, Papua New Guinea).
Ben holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineers), a Masters of Business Administration, and is a full member of Engineers Australia.

Johan Skoglund

Principal Advisor
Johan is a senior environmental and sustainability expert with 25 years of international experience in consulting and corporate positions. His advisory practice is focused on the natural resources industries and includes both executive management and site-level engagements. Key service areas include ESG audit & assurance, sustainability reporting, mergers and acquisitions (due diligence), mine closure and environmental liability assessment.
 
From 2013 to 2020, Johan served as the Global Head of Environment & Sustainability for metals and mining organization Nyrstar, providing direction on the company’s environmental activities at its operations in Europe, Australia, North and South America. His experience also includes nine years as a consultant with Environmental Resources Management based in Stockholm, Sweden, and Vancouver, Canada. Johan holds Masters degrees in Environmental Engineering and in Business Administration.

Francesca Camilla Bruno

Senior Consultant
Francesca holds a M.Eng. in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering from ETH Zurich and the Polytechnic University of Milan. She is also the Managing Director of the Zurich based Commodity Club, and has actively supported and developed projects in sustainable development and responsible investments. Her multi-sector experience covers sustainable development in energy and commodities industries, environmental impact assessments, climate innovation, sustainable finance, agricultural investments, retail and consumer, and healthcare.
Francesca enjoys analysing complex topics, finding sustainable opportunities, and designing innovative approaches to develop new strategies and solutions. Francesca’s passion and ambition is to integrate an ethical vision into the dynamics of the business world.

Timo Schneider

Junior Consultant, Office Manager
Timo Schneider is currently studying an MSc in Environmental Sciences and Policy at ETH Zürich, specialising in sustainable supply chain management. In addition to his studies, he is also the COO of Circular Horizon, a non-profit association focusing on developing globally scalable carbon removal technologies, and has played a key role in driving its growth and success. Timo Schneider started his internship at Enemco in 2020 and has been working closely with the Founder, providing support on a wide range of projects and initiatives.

Doug Grier

Mining and socio-economic expert
Doug Grier, an independent ESG mining advisor, is based in Central Asia and has worked for Enemco projects since the beginning. He is a Canadian citizen with over 20 years of experience in sustainability matters across Russia, Central Asia and Asia-Pacific, working both in leadership positions at mines and as a consultant.
Doug is fluent in Russian and supports both local and international mining companies, as well as development organisations and finance institutions, in ESG, governance, policy development and implementation, and community engagement, especially in conflict situations.
He is very experienced in the many complex challenges that the mining industry faces in developing countries, and has led numerous projects involving social and environmental impact assessments, the design and implementation of community-based environmental monitoring plans, and socio-economic development programs.
On the investment side, Doug supports smaller mining projects in developing business plans to enhance investor appeal, and advises on ESG requirements to secure both commercial and institutional investments.
