SELECTED WORK
Focused support where sustainability affects value.
Our work typically sits where project execution, operational credibility, stakeholder confidence and commercial outcomes intersect.
Below are examples of the kinds of mandates we support.
Sustainability Frameworks for a Junior Mining Project
For a junior mining project in Latin America, together with partner firms we designed a sustainability framework to strengthen financing readiness, bankability and stakeholder credibility. Deliverables included a human rights risk assessment, IFC Performance Standards gap analysis, stakeholder engagement strategy, policy architecture, and a roadmap for transitioning from project-stage to corporate-level sustainability management.
Value: Stronger project readiness and financing position, greater investor confidence, and a credible foundation for long-term license to operate.
Sustainability Strategy for Critical Minerals Investment Fund
We advised a critical minerals investment fund backed by a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund on the development of its sustainability strategy. Our work included defining the fund's sustainability positioning, priorities and governance approach — ensuring alignment with investor expectations, responsible sourcing requirements, and the evolving regulatory and market landscape for critical mineral supply chains.
Value: A clear, credible sustainability strategy aligned with the fund's investment thesis, stronger positioning with co-investors and downstream market participants, and a practical framework for integrating sustainability into investment decisions and portfolio oversight.

Investment Due Diligence — Battery Metals
An international investment company engaged us to conduct a comprehensive sustainability due diligence on a prospective investment in a battery metal mining project. The objective was to identify and assess material sustainability risks, impacts, and opportunities — including legal, financial, and reputational exposure — to support an informed and defensible investment decision.
We developed a structured two-phase due diligence process covering sustainability strategy and management, technical issue management, governance, risk and compliance, and management capacity and performance. We also designed a broader sustainability investment framework, including templates, tools, and technical checklists, to guide how sustainability is considered across the client's full investment cycle. Our findings report identified significant and reportable issues, recommended management actions, and provided prioritised remediation measures — including critical health and safety gaps requiring immediate attention, with proposed corrective actions, timelines, and cost estimates.
Value: A clear, evidence-based view of sustainability risk and management quality, a defensible basis for the investment decision, specific conditions for the investment agreement, and a reusable due diligence framework applicable across the client's future transactions.
Health & Safety Programme Redesign
A mining company with an above-industry-average rate of critical incidents — including fatalities — engaged us to assess the circumstances, investigate outcomes, and redesign its health and safety programme. The mandate came directly from the newly appointed CEO.
We conducted a comprehensive review of all fatal and critical incidents across the company's mining and operating divisions over a six-year period, focusing on the quality of incident investigation methodology, reporting, and follow-through. Based on our findings, we developed a strategy, roadmap, and ambition level for transforming the company's HSE management to align with industry-leading practice. Deliverables included enhanced Group-level incident management and investigation protocols, a frontline HSE handbook, a root cause analysis capability assessment, a site-level HSE risk management evaluation, and a corporate HSE management strategy and roadmap for Board approval.
Value: A clear, Board-endorsed path to embedding HSE risk management as a core organisational process — driving cultural transformation toward line management accountability, alignment with leading practice, and a credible basis for meeting the expectations of regulators, investors, and stakeholders.
